Our core belief is simple: poverty is more than insufficient income. It’s also a lack of confidence, encouragement, and visible pathways to a different future.

Who We Are
Generate Love is a small, community-rooted education and opportunity initiative working alongside the most marginalised children and young people in the Himalayan region of the Kullu Valley, India.
We support children that are growing up in tented communities, informal settlements and unsafe housing whose futures are often constrained by poverty and hopelessness.
Our work is rooted in forging relationships and trust, and strengthened by employing local teachers and former students who – understanding the challenges these young people face – serve as powerful role models.
Through education, nurture, opportunity and fun, Generate Love helps children and young-adults develop confidence, continue learning and imagine futures beyond survival poverty.
Why We Exist
The young people that we serve face multiple barriers to education and opportunity. These include inadequate amenities, lack of access, parental illiteracy, poor mental health, neglect, discrimination and, in the worst instances, violence, abuse and exploitation.
Most children are encouraged to leave school early – if they get the chance to attend at all – and accept limited futures because their families and communities do not believe education will translate into real opportunity.
Generate Love is addressing both the practical barriers to learning and the deeper psychological and social barriers that prevent children from believing that they can succeed.
